What is LWMS™?
Learning With Ms. Shannon™ (LWMS™) is an educational support and academic transformation program designed to help students build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, identify learning gaps, and become independent learners.
We believe learning should make sense.
Through assessments, individualized learning plans, parent partnership, and targeted academic support, we help students move from confusion to confidence and from dependence to independence.
How is LWMS™ different?
At LWMS™, we do more than provide academic support.
We focus on understanding why a student is struggling before determining what support is needed.
Our approach is built on the belief that most students are not struggling because they lack ability. They are often struggling because of missing foundations, learning gaps, or a lack of confidence.
Everything we do is guided by our philosophy:
Trust → Confidence → Effort → Growth → Independence.
The goal is not dependency.
The goal is independence.
What ages and grade levels do you serve?
LWMS™ currently serves students from Kindergarten through 9th grade.
Our programs focus on helping students develop strong academic foundations, build confidence, and strengthen critical reading and math skills.
Services and recommendations may vary based on age, grade level, and individual student needs.
Do you offer virtual support?
Yes.
LWMS™ provides virtual academic support, assessments, consultations, and learning programs designed to meet students wherever they are.
Our virtual learning environment is interactive, engaging, and designed to help students remain actively involved in the learning process.
How does the consultation process work?
The consultation is the first step in determining whether LWMS™ is the right fit for your child.
During the consultation, we discuss:
• Academic strengths
• Areas of concern
• Previous educational experiences
• Current challenges
• Parent goals
• Recommended next steps.
Our goal is to gain a clear understanding of your child's needs before recommending support options.
How do I know if my child has a learning gap?
Many learning gaps show up as:
• Frustration during homework
• Avoidance of reading or math
• Low confidence
• Guessing instead of problem-solving
• Difficulty retaining previously learned skills
• Struggles with grade-level work.
At LWMS™, we believe diagnostics are roadmaps, not judgments.
Identifying a learning gap is often the first step toward building confidence and creating meaningful progress.
What subjects do you support?
LWMS™ primarily focuses on:
• Reading
• Literacy Development
• Foundational Skills
• Math
• Academic Confidence
• Learning Strategies
• Learning Gap Identification
Support recommendations are individualized based on each student's needs.
What is the goal of the LWMS™ program?
The goal is not simply academic improvement.
The goal is to help students become:
• Confident
• Capable
• Strategic
• Independent learners.
We define success as helping students develop the skills, confidence, and learning strategies needed to navigate future academic challenges independently.
Do parents participate in the process?
Absolutely.
At LWMS™, we believe:
Parent + Student + LWMS = Team
Parents play an important role in supporting student growth.
We provide guidance, communication, and recommendations to help families reinforce learning outside of sessions.
How do I get started?
Getting started is simple.
Step 1:
Schedule a consultation.
Step 2:
Discuss your child's strengths, challenges, and goals.
Step 3:
Receive recommendations and next steps.
Step 4:
Determine whether an LWMS™ program is the right fit for your family.
We look forward to supporting your child's learning journey.
Is my child too young for virtual learning?
Not necessarily.
One of the most common questions we receive is whether young children can successfully learn in a virtual environment.
At Learning With Ms. Shannon™, we believe success is determined less by age and more by readiness, engagement, support, and program design.
Many students thrive in virtual learning when instruction is interactive, engaging, developmentally appropriate, and designed with their needs in mind.
Our goal is not to place students in front of a screen and lecture. Our goal is to create meaningful learning experiences that build understanding, confidence, and independence.
During the consultation process, the LWMS Team evaluates factors such as:
• Age and developmental readiness
• Attention and engagement levels
• Academic needs
• Parent support and involvement
• Learning goals
Because every child is different, we take an individualized approach to determining whether virtual learning is the right fit.
Most importantly, we believe that learning should make sense. If virtual learning is not the best fit for a student at a particular stage, we will provide honest recommendations and guidance to help families make informed decisions.
Our priority is always helping students learn in an environment where they can feel successful, confident, and supported.
How much does Learning With Ms. Shannon™ cost?
LWMS™ offers structured learning programs, academic support services, assessments, and digital resources. Tuition varies based on the program selected and the level of support needed. Families are encouraged to schedule a consultation to discuss their child's needs and receive personalized recommendations.
This keeps pricing flexible while positioning LWMS as a customized service rather than a commodity tutoring program.
